Drea Wagner, NCTM
New Song Piano Studio
Drea Wagner, Nationally Certified Teacher of Music, graduated in 2009 with a degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Lakeland College, where she studied with Dr. Arthur Johnson. Drea established New Song Piano Studio in 2004, and her students have won many awards at local, state, and national competitions, and performed successfully in recitals. Drea is MMTA secretary and webmaster and is also on the executive board of the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association (WMTA).
Drea is an accomplished performer, accompanist, arranger, composer, improviser, and church musician. Recent awards include the 2014, 2013, and 2010 Festival for Creative Pianists Creative Teaching Award (Grand Junction, CO), the 2010 MMTA Member of the Year Award, and the 2009 Lakeland College Outstanding Student in Piano Performance and Pedagogy Award. She was also one of six finalists for the 2011 MTNA Studio Fellowship Award. Drea has adjudicated for several competitions/festivals around Wisconsin, and has given presentations on various aspects of music and teaching to MMTA, Christian Home Educators of Sheboygan, Rock River Music Teachers Association, and South Dakota Music Teachers Association. Drea is active in the local music community, performing in area concerts and master classes, collaborating in a Classical Improvisation Duo with Arthur Johnson, and serving in the music ministry at Cornerstone Baptist Church.
New Song Piano Studio offers weekly lessons and monthly group lessons to enrolled students. New Song Piano Studio also offers Tailored Topic classes, 5-6 week courses suited to student interest. Students need not be enrolled in New Song Piano Studio to take Tailored Topic classes.
