Badger Competition
Badger is the name of the state level competitions for students’ progressing on from District Auditions. Students must have chosen to enter in the state track at District Auditions to participate in Badger Competitions each year. If students receive a qualifying performance and theory score they may move on to the Badger Competitions.
There are two Badger Competitions; Keyboard and Vocal/Instrumental. These two WMTA state programs allow students the opportunity to perform and receive written feedback from music professionals. The goal of this exciting state competition is to challenge students to perform the same repertoire as at District Auditions, but at a more advanced level. Highly motivated students are provided with an opportunity to hone performance skills, grow as musical artists, and compete with others across the state.
