Lydia is a native of Kiel and began playing piano at age 8. She holds a B.M in piano performance and pedagogy from Silver Lake College. She has been teaching since 2012 and currently teaches in Kiel and Plymouth. She is an active accompanist and church musician, accompanying for choirs and solo and ensemble vocalists. She plays for the First Presbyterian church in Kiel and Reformation Presbyterian church in Sheboygan. Lydia believes ongoing professional development is key to growing as a teacher and enjoys attending workshops through UW-Milwaukee, UW-Madison, and other local venues. She enjoys ringing in the Silver Lake Handbell Ensemble and playing for community events such as Felician Village nursing home or the Plymouth Arts Center gallery opening. Her desire as a teacher is to produce life-long musicians who can enjoy the beauty of music while becoming well-rounded individuals.
