Regional Competition
Regional Competition (formerly Badger Competition) is the name of the competition for students’ progressing on from District Auditions. Students must have chosen to enter in the Regional Track at District Auditions to participate in Regional Competitions each year. If students receive a qualifying performance and theory score they may move on to the Regional Competitions.
There are two Regional Competitions; Keyboard and Vocal/Instrumental. These two WMTA state programs allow students the opportunity to perform and receive written feedback from music professionals. The goal of this exciting state competition is to challenge students to perform the same repertoire as at District Auditions, but at a more advanced level. Highly motivated students are provided with an opportunity to hone performance skills, grow as musical artists, and compete with others across the state.
Winners at each grade level/division will have the option to advance to the newly implemented State Keyboard Competition.
